About John Bishop

John Bishop is Investing Daily’s editorial director and the managing editor of Personal Finance and Global Investment Strategist. John brings nearly 10 years of experience as a financial journalist to Investing Daily. He spent five years working in China, first as a beat reporter for the Beijing bureau of XFN-Asia, a China-focused financial newswire. There he covered the IT, telecom and venture capital sectors. He later covered general business news as the Beijing bureau chief of China Economic Review, an independent monthly financial print magazine with its editorial base in Hong Kong.

John has lived in South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Bangladesh and Nepal, and has traveled extensively in Asia. His travel writing has appeared in The New York Times and Global Post. He graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire and studied English at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. He holds an MFA in creative writing from the University of Michigan, and his fiction has been published in The Georgetown Review and other periodicals John has trekked extensively in Nepal’s Everest and Annapurna regions and is training to become a paraglider pilot. He speaks conversational Mandarin and fluent Nepali.
